Planque

Case Study Overview
Planque is a wine drinkers’ clubhouse in Haggerston, built inside three railway arches and combining a restaurant, wine bar and temperature-controlled cellar. It also works as a shop, carrying specialist foods, wines, reading material and collaborations, and hosts tastings and small events.
The fit-out treated the existing arch surfaces and installed new windows, doors, MEP plant and a bespoke lighting package. The arches brought their own problems, chiefly water ingress and the coordination of services through a structure that offered few routes, and holding the cost plan through both meant re-pricing the waterproofing scope more than once as conditions in the arches came to light, alongside a large-scale bespoke joinery installation forming the wine display that runs the length of the space. Planque has since been named in the National Restaurant Awards Top 100.
