Case Study Overview
Happy Bar & Grill’s flagship UK restaurant occupies a high-footfall Soho site: a 300-cover room with an open-plan kitchen, back-of-house prep areas and basement facilities.
The scope covered a full fit-out with fire separation to the floors above, complete MEP installation with kitchen extract and roof plant, and management of the client’s direct supply chain for joinery, furniture and signage, procured against the cost plan rather than around it, alongside design management of the client’s overseas design team briefs. Two problems defined delivery: getting plant onto the roof of a seven-storey building, and opening before a permanent electrical supply existed, which took generators and a separate planning application. The restaurant is now in its sixth year, since named Restaurant of the Year UK 2025, Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year by LuxeLife, and a winner of OpenTable’s Diner’s Choice award in 2025.
